Children

Nursery

Child care is available during all services and Sunday School for children up to age 5.  Our nursery is staffed by a lead attendant who is assisted by volunteers from our congregation.  All persons who work with our children have had background checks and are Safe Sanctuary Certified.  You can trust our nursery to be a safe place for your child to be while you attend any of our services or Sunday school classes.

Sunday School

On Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., children have the opportunity to learn more about the Bible and how it applies to their lives.  We have classes for nursery age children through 5th grade children.  Beginning with 6th grade classes are available through our youth programming at St. Peter UMC.

Kids For Christ

Each Wednesday evening during the school year children ages preschool through 5th grade meet to celebrate and learn more about God's word and his plan for their lives.

St. Peter UMC uses FaithWeaver Curriculum for its children's ministries on Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings.  Each lesson reinforces a Bible truth for that week.  Wednesday meetings begin with a time of praise and worship in the sanctuary at 6:15 p.m.  Children then move from area to area with centers for a story, play with a purpose, and a craft activity.  Each center uses that week's verse and idea.  At the end of the evening, children are sent home with a note to their parents about what they learned that evening and parents are encouraged to reinforce what they have learned throughout the week.

Truth Seekers

Each Sunday morning during our 11:00 a.m. worship service, children in kindergarten through 5th grade exit the sanctuary prior to the sermon and are led by a group of dedicated volunteers for an age-appropriate time of learning.  After this learning time, the children return to the sanctuary to be with their parents for communion (on the first Sunday of the month) and worship together.
